Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

• Acceptance of publication rules . With the original submission, the author/s declare that they know and accept, in their entirety, the publication rules < a> and, in particular, the evaluation policy of the ICONO14 journal. Also, that the text is written correctly, following standardized scientific writing standards , committing to review the stylistic correction if the article is accepted for publication.
• Fully completed metadata . All metadata of the article have been completed, in all three languages (Spanish, English and Portuguese) following the indications established in the publication rules.. If the article is funded by a support agency or private entity, it has been informed by incorporating all the requested information.
• Publication time . The authors declare that they have not published an article in the Journal ICONO 14 in the last two volumes.
  No more than one original may be submitted simultaneously for evaluation, even if it is to different sections.
• Compliance with bibliographic criteria and cites. The submission follows the Journal’s bibliographical reference standards:
  
  • All bibliographical references shall follow the publication standards of APA 7th edition  (American Psychological Association). 
  • Articles shall contain a DOI number is if they have one. It has been consistently proven that those not indicated are because they do not. 
  • Shortened URLs have been used in cases where the reference is available online and does not have DOI
  • References have been included in the metadata including a line break between them to facilitate automated extraction
  • The self-citations do not exceed the number of 2
  • The cited references show a knowledge of the essential theoretical references of the object of study in the theoretical framework, but, especially in empirical studies, the state of the art and the discussion take into account the most recent works (last 5 years as reference)
• Compliance with the gender policy . The submission complies with the journal's gender policy:
  • Inclusive language is used.
  • Sex and gender stereotypes are avoided both in writing and in graphic, audiovisual and/or multimedia representations.
  • Indicate whether gender has been considered in the design and development of the research to identify possible differences and/or avoid bias.
  • Full names are included in bibliographic references. For example, if a name is Mario González-García, González-García, Mario (correct) has been used instead of González-García, M. (incorrect).
  • Correct reference example: Álvarez-García, Sergio; Rodriguez-Garcia, Teresa; Galvez-de-la-Cuesta, Maria-del-Carmen; Gertrudis-Casado, Maria-del-Carmen; & Baños-González, Miguel. (2011). • Article language and translate. The original is presented in one of the following accepted languages: Spanish, English or Portuguese. The author / s know and accept that if the article is accepted for publication in Spanish or Portuguese, it must be translated into English once the final revision of the original text has been made. If it has been accepted in English, they must provide a version translated into Spanish. The translation must be signed by a translator or company that has an ISO 17100 standard, ISO 9001:2015 or homologated recognition. The authors will have 15 days to deliver the translation.
• Declaration on the Use of Artificial Intelligence.
  In line with COPE recommendations, authors must explicitly declare the use of any Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool or application in the preparation, analysis, or review of their manuscripts. This declaration must be made: 1) In the "Methodology" section of the manuscript, indicating the phases in which it was applied and the tools used; 2) In the "Comments to the Editor" field during the submission process.
• Commitment to the dissemination of research. If their article is published, the authors undertake to collaborate with the journal's technical team to promote the dissemination and dissemination of the research.

• Compliance with structural criteria. The submission adheres to all structural elements required by the journal:

  • The article follows the IMRaD standard structure: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion, or the IMDC model: Introduction, Method, Development, and Conclusions, depending on whether the study is empirical or theoretical.
  • The abstract must be submitted in an explicitly structured format, including clearly identified headings in the following order: Purpose, Methodology, Results, Conclusions, and optionally, Collateral Information. This structure does not alter the IMRaD or IMDC model of the full article, but rather reflects it clearly and consistently to improve comprehension, visibility, and indexing of the article.
  • If the results presented were obtained through a project funded by public, private, or mixed sources, the full project reference has been explicitly indicated.
  • If there are acknowledgements, they are included at the end of the document, following the conclusions.
  • If there are notes, these have been included at the end of the document, between the Acknowledgements and References sections.
  • It has been verified that all instructions to ensure anonymity have been followed, both in the text and in the file metadata.
  • If the work does not follow the requested structure, a justification for this has been provided in the cover letter.
• Availability of research data and supplementary materials. The availability of all data, materials, code, instruments, and supplementary resources used in the development of the research and the reported results has been indicated and cited, including their deposit in open repositories (such as Zenodo, Figshare, Dataverse, OSF, or equivalent) with persistent identifiers (DOI or stable URL), as detailed in the publication guidelines.
• Ethical Compliance. By submitting their manuscript, the author(s) adhere to the ICONO14 Journal Code of Ethics, based on the International Code of Ethics for Authors. If the research involves human participants and/or the processing of personal data, the author(s) declare that the study has received approval from a Research Ethics Committee (REC) or an equivalent institutional body, or a formal exemption where applicable. In all such cases, the ethics approval or exemption document must be uploaded as an additional file during submission (component Research Ethics Committee Certificate), for internal editorial use only and not for publication. The manuscript must state the name of the REC, the reference code, and the date of approval or exemption.
• Use of third-party materials. I declare that all third-party materials included in this article (audiovisual excerpts, images, data, source code, or other content not created by the authors) are used lawfully: either because they are in the public domain, are covered by an open licence whose terms are duly respected, are used under the right of quotation for research and critical purposes (Art. 32 Spanish Intellectual Property Law / Art. 10 Berne Convention / applicable equivalent legislation), or because express authorisation has been obtained from the rights holder. I assume full responsibility for any third-party claims relating to intellectual property rights over the materials included, and I hold harmless ICONO 14 Journal, its editorial team, the publishing entity, and the co-publishing institutions from any liability in this regard. • Participation of the authors . All authors who sign the article have made a substantive participation in the development of the research according to the criteria established by International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and corresponds to one or more of the roles defined by the project CRediT of CASRAI.
  The order of signature is recommended following the model of the SDC approach (Sequence Determines Credit), so that the first author is the one who has made the most relevant contributions to the investigation, and the rest appear successively on the right indicating decreasing contributions . The roles played in the research have been identified for each author according to the model CRediT
• Compliance with formal criteria . The submission meets all the following formal criteria of the Journal.

  In the event of submitting an article for the Estudos de pesquisa ou replicação::

  • An A4 size document shall be presented, with double spacing, Arial Font and 12 pt.
  • The total number of words in the text will be between 6,500 and 7,500. In this computation, the references and the tables, as well as the summary and the keywords. Translation of the summary into other languages will not be included in this calculation.
  • Particular attention will be paid to ensuring that the information corresponding to the abstract and the keywords are of the highest quality and follow an organized structure by good academic practices.   A clear and concise title is given in which the main keyword of the article appears. It shall be no longer than 12 words and otherwise contain a subtitle no longer than 15 words
  • The paper includes an abstract in Spanish, English and Portuguese, with a maximum of 250 words as well as 6 keywords in the three languages.
  • The main document should NOT include the names of the authors. All metadata identifying the author will be removed from the document.
  • Important The file name does not exceed 60 characters
  
  
• Acceptance of the privacy policy . The authors declare that they know and accept the privacy policy and the  Copyright notice  of ICONO 14 when they submit the original paper.
• Completely completed author profile. All authors have fully completed their profile in the three languages of the journal, including:
  • Current affiliation information (linked to the place where the research was carried out) using the built-in ROR search engine (see brief tutorial on its use in OJS) | You can also search for your institution's ROR in the ROR search engine
  • ORCID Identifier, following the scheme full URL, for example: http://orcid.org/0000-0003-1102-3144
  • Biographic summary of about 100 words, following the recommended scheme: Full affiliation [position, group name ( if applicable), or department (if applicable), center or institute (full name and acronym, if applicable), institution on which it depends, postal address, city, and country. Contact email]. Main line/s of research. Notable reference to projects and publications.
• Originality of the article.
  All submitted materials must be original (unpublished — including in another language — and not under review at other journals), and written in Spanish, English or Portuguese. For these purposes, works previously published in conference proceedings shall not be considered unpublished and will be rejected.
  
  Prior deposit in open repositories and preprints. In line with the journal's open science principles, works that the authors have previously deposited as preprints in open-access repositories may be submitted, whether institutional (university archives, BURJC Digital…) or thematic/generalist (Zenodo, arXiv, SocArXiv, SSRN…), provided that said works, neither wholly nor partially, have been submitted to and/or published in scientific journals or any other publication system. For these purposes, depositing a preprint in an open-access repository is not considered prior publication. In such cases, authors must indicate the existence of the preprint (link and DOI, if available) in the "Comments for the editor" field of the submission process.   In the case of manuscripts derived from academic works such as doctoral theses, authors must indicate this circumstance for assessment in the "Comments for the editor" field of the submission process.
