Abstract

Most of households have access to traditional TV. It stayed strong when Social Networks arrived. This arrival threatened TV advertising industry. We are adopting new ways to measure audiences, to watch TV and to receive feedback from users. 

This book (The audience involvement on tv: from the active audience to the social one) has been coordinated by Natalia Quintas Froufe and Ana González Neira, and edited by AIMC (Asociación para la Invesetigación de Medios de Comunicación). It compiles 8 articles that go over past and present of television. In addition, they foresee a near future for TV and its relationship with its audience. Users are changing his habits and are including smartphones in their experience of watching TV.

Author Biography

Juan Romero-Luis, Rey Juan Carlos University

In 2017 Romero-Luis gets a grant which allows him to investigate at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in the Science of Communication department. This happens after two years gaining experience as a User Experience Designer and Multimedia Creative Writer. He works as a freelance for several companies including the URJC Center for Innovation in Digital Education.

In 2014 he finishes a double degree in Audiovisual Communication and Journalism at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid. Thanks to a grant, in 2013 he can study an academic year at the Università degli studi di Roma Tre in Italy. In 2008 he completes an associate degree for Image and after years of gaining experience, he earns a Masters' in graphic design at Aula Creactiva in 2011.

Moreover, Romero-Luis works as a photographer at Motorpress Ibérica in 2008 which in turn enables him to be featured in magazines such as CocheActual, Xtreme Quads, Motociclismo, Runners, Autopista or Connect, among others. Then in 2009, he works as a Clinical Photographer at Diagnóstico Bucofacial Dr. Ortega for three years.

In parallel with this, in 2009, Romero-Luis cofounds Sexto Orden magazine, a media outlet that specializes in classic guitar. In 2010, Romero-Luis founds La Sala 101, a blog that focuses on alternative culture, where he documents his beginnings in radiophonic journalism.
