Madrid in the cinema of Pedro Almodóvar

Abstract

Pedro Almodovar 's long filmography career is a clear example of the growth about the country through the decades, a message to the world about lifestyle and hustle for his characters in the main city, Madrid.  In this work Gloria Camarero analyzes the use of different locations in Madrid and its outskirts to understand aspects of the personality and attitude of the creatures born from the mind of Almodóvar. Divided into five sections, the writer situates us and explains why they live where they live, why they eat where they eat, why they are related in those spaces, why they cross in certain streets, and, perhaps, the most autobiographical aspect of the director: What Madrid is a round trip place.
