YouTube e influencers en la infancia. Análisis de contenidos y propuestas educativas

Abstract

The presence of mobile technologies and Internet among children and young people is generating new frames of understanding, interaction and consumption of media and content. YouTube has become one of the platforms most used by these, being important to investigate the behavioral repercussions of the uncontrolled use of this social network among them. In the present work, an analysis of the main YouTubers followed by children of Primary Education in Spain is carried out. It has used a quantitative methodology to know the main YouTubers, and qualitative, to analyze the profiles of these influencers. The results indicate the predilection Spanish YouTubers and that most use videogames or jokes associated with their channels. Finally, a reflection is offered on the content consumed by children on the Internet through these channels, providing pedagogical proposals to develop an adequate media education for psychosocial child development.

Paula Renés Arellano, University of Cantabria

Ph.D. in Education (Theory of Education) in School Mediation. Lecturer at the University of Cantabria (Spain). Currently teaching in the Department of Education the areas of Educational Theory and History of Education. Lines of research are linked to ICT, media literacy, values and Learning and Teaching Styles. Member of the Euro-American Interuniversity Research Network on Media Competence for Citizenship (ALFAMED). Vicent Gozálvez Pérez, University of Valencia

Vicent Gozálvez is a PhD of Philosophy of Law, Morality and Politics from the University of Valencia, and a professor in the Department of Education Theory at the same university. In recent years he has specialized in educommunication, especially in its ethical and citizen aspects.
