The need for an ethics linked to big data

Abstract

The book A technology for big data has been published in the UOC Publishing Technology collection. Introduction to the ethical management of massive data, dedicated to ethical reflection about the problems related to the use of this data that are products of human action and whose management has direct consequences both on privacy, on reputation and identity of people.
The era of technological transformation is bringing about a metamorphosis of societies, changing from culture to the way we have to communicate as a result of the massive generation of data that technological development is generating.
However, as the author, Rosa Colmenarejo points out, this transformation is accompanied by new and relevant ethical dilemmas, related to the principles of beneficence, autonomy, non-maleficence and justice.
