When is transmedia?: discussions on the transmedia(l) of the narratives

Abstract

Currently we live in a time that can be understood in terms of communication pro - cesses, where the global communication networks involved significantly in consumption and generation of culture images and ideas from which the population makes up some of their referents more significant. This text has as main objective to reflect and discuss the notion of transmedia storytelling . Review the history of the concept is made and is distinguished from other similar. A characterization of when a cultural product can be considered transmedia and when not. A review is conducted at the main theoretical contributions that make this concept clear. Wonder when is transmedia and not what, implies that the analysis assumes a historical - evolutionary dimension of the stories and see the ways that are incorporated into the processes of meaning by the audience.
