Editorial Mission and Independence

The mission of ICONO14 is to advance scientific knowledge through the publication of high-quality research, promoting open access, open science, and interoperability.

Editorial independence: editorial decisions are based exclusively on academic criteria and are not influenced by commercial or institutional interests.

Editorial Governance Structure

The journal is organised through editorial and advisory bodies including the Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, Editorial Board, Scientific Committee, and Technical Office.

Appointment and Renewal

Editorial positions are appointed according to the internal regulations of the ICONO14 Scientific Association.

Positions are reviewed annually by the General Assembly. Renewals are decided by simple majority.

Last renewal approved: 24 June 2025.

Editorial independence and non-commercial delegation: ICONO14 does not outsource editorial decisions to commercial service providers nor delegate scientific management to for-profit entities. Academic leadership and editorial control remain under the direct responsibility of the publishing institutions (ICONO14 Scientific Association & Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, ensuring the integrity and autonomy of editorial processes.

Continued training of the editorial team

The editorial team participates continuously in processes of updating and training in editorial ethics, open science, interoperability and international standards of scientific publishing, with the objective of guaranteeing the continued improvement of the magazine.
