Twitter e ativismo por deficiência: liderança e questões relevantes na conversa online

Resumo

A disseminação e viralização de informações nas redes sociais tem sido amplamente estudada sob diversas perspectivas, inclusive a do ativismo digital. Por outro lado, o ativismo relacionado à deficiência conquistou o terreno online, obtendo assim um alcance que vai além do espaço offline e gerando diálogo na esfera digital. Este artigo analisa a conversa gerada no Twitter tomando como amostra todos os tweets com a hashtag #deficiência antes e depois do Dia Internacional da Pessoa com Deficiência. Foram analisados ​​mais de 18.000 tweets com quase o mesmo número de menções, que foram interpretados como arestas ponderadas de um gráfico direcionado com o software Gephi, aplicando o algoritmo de força bruta Force Atlas 2. O foco foi colocado nas comunidades de conversação geradas em torno dessa hashtag, os principais temas e os atores de destaque nas referidas comunidades de conversação. Verifica-se que, embora a rede de menções seja muito dispersa, o Twitter é palco de reivindicações que incluem certo apoio institucional e político do ambiente latino-americano, de entidades ligadas à causa como a Fundación ONCE e, sobretudo, o claro predominância de mulheres ativistas.

Biografia do Autor

Terese Mendiguren Galdospin, UNIVERSIDAD DEL PAÍS VASCO

É professora associada do Departamento de Jornalismo da Universidade do País Basco (UPV/EHU). É membro do grupo de pesquisa Gureiker (grupo A do sistema universitário basco). Participou em 18 projetos de investigação, sendo investigadora principal em 3 deles. É coautora de 36 artigos científicos, 50 capítulos de livros e mais de 80 contribuições em congressos nacionais e internacionais. Tem 2 mandatos de seis anos reconhecidos pela CNEAI. As suas linhas de investigação centram-se no ciberjornalismo, inovação social e redes sociais. Atualmente dirige um projeto de pesquisa (colaboração entre a UPV/EHU e a Fundação ONCE) denominado “Universidade, deficiência e inclusão. Desafios da formação na área da comunicação digital”.

Koldobika Meso Ayerdi, Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU)

Membro do Grupo de Investigação Gureiker do Sistema Universitário Basco. Desenvolve a sua actividade, baseada numa visão multidisciplinar, na investigação teórica e aplicada com valor de transferência. As suas principais áreas de investigação são os meios digitais, as redes sociais, a inovação educacional e o género. Publicou mais de uma centena de obras sob a forma de capítulos, livros e artigos em revistas académicas de qualidade.

Jesús Ángel Pérez Dasilva, Universidad del Páis Vasco (UPV/EHU)

É professor titular no Departamento de Jornalismo da Universidade do País Basco (UPV/EHU). É membro do grupo de investigação Gureiker (grupo A do sistema universitário basco). Participou em 26 projectos de investigação, tendo sido o principal investigador em 5 deles. É co-autor de 70 artigos científicos, 32 capítulos de livros e mais de 100 contribuições para conferências nacionais e internacionais. Tem 3 sexénios reconhecidos pela CNEAI. As suas linhas de investigação centram-se no ciberjornalismo, inovação social, design, jornalismo e redes sociais.

María Ganzabal Learreta, Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU)

María Ganzabal é doutorada e professora no Departamento de Jornalismo desde 2009.

Depois de trabalhar em várias Agências de Comunicação e na revista americana New Woman (Nova Iorque), ensinou disciplinas como Jornalismo Social e Participativo e Narrativas Transmedia.

Os seus estudos em múltiplas equipas de investigação foram sempre orientados para o jornalismo digital, plataformas sociais, jornalismo participativo, audiências e questões sociais, para além das relacionadas com o género. Artigos sobre estes aspectos podem ser vistos publicados em revistas de grande impacto. Ela faz parte do grupo de investigação Gureiker e é actualmente Secretária Académica do Departamento de Jornalismo.

Ainara Larrondo Ureta, Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU)

Professora de Jornalismo na UPV/EHU, coordenadora da Licenciatura em Jornalismo e chefe do Grupo de Pesquisa Consolidado do Sistema Universitário Basco 'Gureiker' (Tipo A) desde 2016. Participou em cerca de vinte projetos de pesquisa competitivos em nível regional, nacional e internacional, além de liderar diferentes projetos de inovação educacional. É autora de um elevado número de trabalhos sob a forma de livros, papers e artigos científicos em revistas de impacto (JCR, Scopus, FECYT, etc.), ligadas às suas principais linhas de investigação, entre as quais inovação jornalística, media digital, comunicação com perspectiva de gênero e comunicação política e organizacional.

Simón Peña Fernández, Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU)

Professor da Universidade do País Basco (UPV/EHU) desde 1999, publicou mais de 60 artigos acadêmicos em periódicos nacionais e internacionais e participou de cerca de trinta projetos de pesquisa em editais competitivos. As suas principais linhas de investigação são o ciberjornalismo, as redes sociais e a comunicação digital. Ele é membro do consolidado grupo de pesquisa Gureiker (IT1496), financiado pelo Governo Basco.
